Wheat choco-nut cookies - Kids' recipe

There's chocolate in it, so it's yummy!! It has wheat, so it's healthier!! It has butter in it, so it's melting!! What more do you need to keep your kids and yourself happy..!!! This recipe can also be baked using a cooker. Fill the bottom layer of cooker with salt (crystal or powder). Place a stand, preferably aluminium and place the plate you wish to use on it. Preheat the cooker on lowest heat for 10 mins before baking. Baking time depends on your cooker size and flame also, so it's better to keep checking after every 5 mins for the first time.

Cooking time - 10 mins

Ingredients

Wheat flour - ¾ cup
Cocoa powder - ¼ cup
Butter - ½ cup
Powdered sugar - ½ cup
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Vanilla essence - ½ tsp
Choco chips, optional
Salt to taste

Steps to prepare

1. In a bowl, take butter and sugar, whisk using hand blender or a whisk or even using a spatula.
2. After the mixture blends well, add vanilla essence and mix again.
3. Now, sieve all dry ingredients into the mixture. Add choco chips as well.
4. Mix everything lightly. If the mixture is dry, add little amount of milk to it. Don't make the mixture very loose.
5. Preheat oven at 170°C.
6. Brush an oven plate or pan with butter or oil. If available, put a parchment paper over it. 
7. Make cookies into balls or any shape you desire and place it on the plate.
8. Bake it in a convection oven at 170°C for at least 10 minutes. If cookies are not fully baked, increase the time as long as it's done.
9. Shift it on to a wired rack or something alike and let it cool for sometime. Cookies are ready to eat. Store in an airtight container for 10 days.

Tips

1.  As every oven is different, check for the right time when you do it for the first time.
2. If cookie dough is very smooth to handle, refrigerate it for half an hour and then bake it.
3. Amount of cocoa powder and wheat flour can be adjusted according to taste. You can increase amount of wheat flour and reduce cocoa powder if you wish to.
4. You can add any kind of choco chips or sprinkles etc.,
5. Wheat flour can be replaced by maida or oats.
